This course is for school staff who want to:

  • Support pupils' mental health in a structured, learning-based way
  • Fulfil RSE Wellbeing Objectives and NHS 5 Ways to Wellbeing
  • Help pupils understand thoughts, feelings, and behaviours
  • Teach self-regulation strategies to manage stress and transitions

Age Suitability:

Course Modules:

Each module includes five structured learning pages and five follow-up activities, plus mindful and breathing techniques:

Module 1: Mindful Wellbeing

How the brain works and how different strategies can support wellbeing.

Module 2: Fight, Flight, Freeze

Understanding the brain's response to challenges and how to manage reactions.

Module 3: The Busy Mind

Mindful vs Mind Full and Autopilot – how habits affect focus, decisions, and energy.

Module 4: Stress

Positive vs negative stress, impact on the brain, and introducing the Circle of Control.

Module 5: Thoughts, Feelings, and Behaviours

How thoughts shape emotions and actions, identifying patterns, and alternative thinking.

Module 6: Triggers and Choices

Recognising triggers, how they affect behaviour, and developing better responses.

Module 7: Happiness and Kindness

What influences happiness, the impact of kindness on the brain, and building positive habits.

Module 8: Acceptance

Understanding what can and can't be changed, developing flexible thinking, and handling challenges constructively.
